Don’t you know why I am here?

Today’s Gospel Reading:

Jesus said, ‘Very truly, I tell you, you will weep and mourn, but the world will rejoice; you will have pain, but your pain will turn into joy. When a woman is in labor, she has pain, because her hour has come. But when her child is born, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy of having brought a human being into the world. So you have pain now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. On that day you will ask nothing of me. Very truly, I tell you, if you ask anything of the Father in my name, he will give it to you.’  John 16:20-23

You weep, deep inside.

You mourn for who you are or are not.

Your sadness hangs heavy in the air between us.

You silently weep.

Your soul cries out and bridges the darkness between us.

Don’t you know why I am here?

The God of infinite possibility.

Gives birth to a new thing.

Turns your pain into deep joy.

Your hour has come.

Rebirth is upon you.

Can you not feel it?

In the darkness between our souls?

Your heart will rejoice with the joy that is yours.

The God of infinite possibility promises.

Nothing denied.

Do you not trust that God is silently planning a new joy for you?

Your mourning will end.

Don’t you know why I am here?

If you open to the birth of a new thing,

take my hand and walk forward.

Anguish exists no more.

Your hour has come.
